72 free WiFi hotspots are now live across the Western Cape after local government partnered with Neotel to close “the digital divide and delivering world-class Internet access to Western Cape citizens, and to helping stimulate local economic development, by providing a connected, enabling environment for businesses to grow”. The partnership was originally launched in March earlier this year with 50 hotspots, but they have now added another 22 bringing the current total to 72 NeoHotspots scattered around the city and surrounding areas. A further 88 hotspots will be added by March 2017 with the aim to get 384 in total…one for each ward in the province.
Those are not all the locations, but you can find them all on the NeoTel interactive map HERE.
Really easy to connect. Just go to a location of the hotspot and use your device to search for the nearest hotspot network. Look out for the one that says “NeoHotSpot” and connect to it. Easy as that.
There are some conditions…you get 250MB free and unlimited access to .gov.za websites.
Now you know.
