We are all familiar with those ‘Proudly brought to you by the ANC’ billboards that have popped up around South Africa, but a new one in Port Elizabeth is a bit of a mystery. At first it looks as if it is making fun of the ANC and Danny Jordaan, but then some people pointed out that it may actually be the ANC who erected the billboard as a message of support.
The ANC has since denied it was put up by the party.
Dunno how proud Danny should feel that he is brought by Jacob Zuma given the current opinion of our dear president.
“Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Danny Jordaan’s chief of staff, Mlungisi Ncame, said he had asked ANC officials to remove the billboard yesterday.
Ncame said it had not been put up by the party.
“We do not know who erected it,” he said.
“It is actually quite mischievous and I don’t want to speculate, but whoever was responsible for it wants to sow confusion within the party.” [Herald Live]

UPDATE: the DA have claimed responsibility for erecting the billboard.
“The DA’s Andrew Whitfield says, “The purpose of the billboard was really to highlight that we have a compromised president and a compromised mayor, who won’t be accountable and won’t answer questions about the Fifa scandal. We wanted to highlight that point.” [EWN]
