Petrol price in SA expected to drop up to 64 cents per litre in September
Posted by on Aug 18th, 2015

UPDATE: The AA is expecting a bigger drop in the petrol price next week. Between 71 and 77 cents. If it wasn’t for the recent drop in the value of Rand it could have dropped over a R1.

“Petrol is set for a drop of between 71 and 77 cents a litre, diesel will be lower by 50 to 53 cents, and illuminating paraffin down by about 56 cents,” the Association commented.” [Source]

Given the very crap exchange rate it’s come as a surprise that the AA is still expecting that the price of petrol in South Africa will drop up to 64 cents per litre in September. If it wasnt for the weakening Rand they predicted a decrease of up to 83 cents/litre, but the drop in global oil prices is still enough to expect the petrol price in SA will go down by 55-64 cents next month.

Let’s not complain. I’ll take anything at this stage.

petrol price drop

“If current trends persist, we could be looking at a petrol price decrease of between 55 and 64 cents in September, while diesel could drop by between 53 and 57 cents.” [iol]

Now you know.
