  • Cape Town to get its own version of Monopoly
Posted by on Jun 10th, 2015

Cape Town will be the first South African city to get it’s very own version of Monopoly. It is already one of the cities in the upcoming Monopoly 80th anniversary World Edition HERE, but now will get a stand alone version highlighting tourist attractions and popular landmarks within Cape Town. So basically a Monopoly game with streets and landmarks only from Cape Town. And you can vote for which places you wanna see included in the game.

I’m guessing places like the V&A Waterfront and the Table Mountain Cableway etc are gonna be on it, but you can submit your ideas HERE and i’m told it should be available for Christmas.

“Cape Town has long been on our list of regional MONOPOLY targets, and when we had the Mother City included on our anniversary edition, we knew this year was the one to bring MONOPOLY to Cape Town’s gorgeous shores. We’re extremely excited to see how it’s received and have high hopes that Cape Town will be the first of many South African MONOPOLY games to be launched in the next 3 years,” said Dan Taylor, Head of Monopoly, Winning Moves.

For the image of the jail they better include with a guy behind bars that has no front teeth.

For more information like how to vote and what not, head on over to the Cape Town Tourism website.
