We’ve seen it several times before, but it never gets old watching a long distance runner think he has the race in the bag and either slows down or celebrates early only for the guy behind him to beat him at the finish line. Latest moegoe is Tanguy Pepiot from Oregon who started smiling on the home stretch and raising his hands in the air to get the crowd clapping while the runner in second place steamed past him at the last second.

The race happened at the Pepsi Team Invitational in the US.
Still not as good as the cyclist from last year who celebrated a whole lap too early and went from 1st to 56th HERE.
