In the run up to the SA elections there is an increasing importance being placed on how political parties represent themselves across social media platforms. How they communicate and interact with the public has become a valuable part of their campaign and journalists no doubt keep an eye on their social media feeds. The Saturday Star over the weekend went with a story highlighting social media’s importance in the upcoming elections and gave a breakdown of the popularity of the different political parties on Twitter. According to the survey the most popular party is Julius Malema’s EFF with 167 000 followers. Interesting….except the EFF they were refering to is not the Economic Freedom Fighters at all, but a completely different Twitter account.

Ya hey..when writing a story about the importance of social you make sure you got the right social media accounts to begin with.

The EFF referred to is in fact the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

That is so funny !

But it happens all the time on the internet. People (owners of platforms) and those that write for them become so lazy that they would rather facebook than actually use the following tools
– spell-check
– grammar-check
– punctuation-check

All they’re concerned about is whether their advertising revenue sources are working properly.
