Let’s clear up a rather common misconception today shall we. Here’s a public service announcement that should enlighten quite a few folks and at the same time shut up those anal people who complain that you read their WhatsApp message and didn’t reply. How many times have you heard folks bitch and moan that ‘I can see they read the message, but didn’t bother replying’. Well next time they pull that card and you genuinely didn’t read the message throw this at them…according to the official WhatsApp site two ticks does not mean that your message was read.

    FACT.

    whatsapp two check marks

You see that…two check marks doesn’t mean the message was actually read by the person who recieved it.

    Got it?

    Good.

WhatsApp is one of the biggest cross platform instant message services and i’m amazed people don’t know about the two ticks thing.

    Well now you know.

Thanks for that. People kept on getting upset saying they could see someone read their messages, and I thought they had a function on their phones that I didn’t have. Glad to know I’m not the idiot.

There is one catch. If there are 2 ticks, and you can see the person was online (via the: “Last seen at 13:46″) after you sent the message, then a little bitch and moan can be had. Surely.
