Best places for a baby to be born in 2013: SA ranks 53rd out of 80 countries
Posted by on Jan 9th, 2013

The Economist Intelligence Unit recently released a study which measures the countries around the world that provide the best opportunities for future generations…essentially a ranking of the best places to be born in 2013 and South Africa ranked a lowly 53rd out of the 80 countries in the survey.

The survey took into account 11 indicators and no doubt SA’s crime and unemployment rates had a big part in our poor ranking. Needless to say that the majority of kids born in Switzerland, Oz and the Scandanavian countries can look forward to a decent quality of life.

Surprising that Britain only ranked 27th…below Chile.

That and Ukraine is apparently not a good place to be born.

Why is it surprising that Britain is below Chile? Have you been to Chile?

I’m a Brit living there and the quality of life is a lot better, while Santiago is as modern and efficient as any UK city
