The August 2012 cover of Marie Claire SA featuring Kate Middleton, the Dutchess of Cambridge, is getting some serious worldwide attention.
The cover features Kate wearing a South African designed outfit. The elusive royal has never posed for a cover previously so how did Marie Claire SA manage to get the second in line for the British throne to agree to do one ?
Well here’s the thing …it’s not really Kate Middleton, but rather her face photoshopped onto a body double. Editor Apasia Karras calls it a ‘hyper-real illustration‘.
You can see the disclaimer there at the bottom.
The cover has drawn the attention of People Magazine, The Huffington Post, Fashionista, E! Online, Jezebel and The Daily Telegraph amoungst others, with most raising the issue of whether it’s fair play, unethical, illegal or just bizarre.
What do you think? I rather quite like it..reminds me of the Rolling Stone cover i did with Candice Swanepoel a while back hey.
There has been no official response from the Royal family, but if they do respond ill let you know.
In the mean time what did you think of the Marie Claire cover?
