Posted by on May 3rd, 2012

The Best of Cape Town 2012 surveys have been very hotly contested so far, but i have a sneaky suspicion that today’s poll will result in a landslide victory, but hey you never know. Theer have been some serious surprises in the previous polls.

If you still aren’t familiar with Best Of Cape Town 2012 then let me get you up to speed quickly…i’m trying to establish a crowd sourced list of the best Cape Town has to offer. Using social media nominations and comments from readers of Life Is Savage i have so far created top 10 lists for the the best sushi, best burger, best coffee and best pizza in Cape Town HERE.

There are no review…the top 10 lists are purely decided by locals. A people’s choice awards so to speak. And judging from the past four polls there are so many places we don’t know of and .

So lets get on with it then shall we. Today’s poll…

Where in Cape Town would you go for the best Mexican food?

You know the drill…

If you’re gonna make a suggestion on Twitter then please use #BestOfCapeTown2012 and #BestMexicanFood along with your nomination so i can track the results.

And by all means please leave a comment beneath this post to back up your decision and also give your choice and extra vote. For the sake of other readers please elaborate also on why you chose that place. Price, taste, vibe , tequila etc

For the best and most authentic mexican food in Cape Town there’s only really one choice – El Burro. Fantastic food, great service, great vibe and good prices, try the half price lunch!

If your ‘mexican’ restuarant serves ‘traditional’ nachos smothered in cheese etc.. then you’re dealing with tex-mex, not the real deal.

1st Choice I think El Burro has fantastic, authentic tasting food. San Juian scores on the Margherita front.

Having been to Mexico a few times and having lived in Florida for 5 years with lots of Mexican friends. EL BURRO IS THE ONLY TRUE MEXICAN REST IN THIS COUTNRY!!!
