So far the Best of Cape Town 2012 polls have determined the Top 10 places in Cape Town to find the best sushi, best burger and best coffee HERE…with all the results purely crowd sourced via social media and Life is Savage comments. It’s the best of Cape Town as decided by the the people, the locals…the ones that know. We all have our favourites, but if you ask enough people you’ll pretty soon find out that there is a definite consensus as to where the best places are.
Last week i asked you folks where you would go for the best pizza in the city and it was quickly apparent that certain venues were overwhelming favourites, there was also the largest selection of places nominated so far. 31 venues in total were mentioned, but the majority of the votes went to the top 4. Also worth noting that there was a three way tie for 7th place.
This week also saw @concierge_ryan using his outstanding skills to throw out some names he felt should make the list. And we should all respect his opinion because quite frankly if Ryan doesn’t know of your place then best you up your game. The man is like Cape Town’s personal concierge.
Ok so let’s get to it then…here’s the Top 10 list for best pizza in Cape Town.

Nicely done to Massimo’s in Hout Bay. They managed to top the poll with people nominating them very convincingly i must add. I’ve never been there so can’t give my opinion, but im definitely making a plan to go now. Just goes to show you why a crowd sourced poll using locals is so helpful. If it wasn’t for you folks i may never have heard of this place. Same goes for number 4 on the list. Some very passionate pizza lovers were adament that Borusso’s pizza is the business.
No surprises that second place went to Col’Cacchio. I actually expected them to win hands down and their pizza is my favourite for sure. I’m very keen to see how they compare to Massimo’s.
Other restaurants that were mentioned, but didn’t make the top 10 included (in no particular order) Call a Pizza, Butlers, Rascals, Forries, Rafiki’s, Bardelli’s, Giovanni’s, Limoncello, Jason Bakery, Romans, Napoli Trattatoria and even restaurants as far away as Bertie’s Mooring in Gordons Bay and Gino’s in Stellenbosch.
What do you think? If you have any more venues or opinions then leave a comment hey.
