How’s this statement yesterday from one of the writers over at Mashable (the world’s leader in social media news):
“I have seen what Facebook is launching on Thursday, and it’s going to change the world of social media. And while I won’t talk about the mind-boggling things Facebook will be launching, I will say this: The Facebook you know and (don’t) love will be forever transformed. The news that will come out of Facebook during the next few weeks will be the biggest things to come out of the company since the launch of the Facebook Platform.”
Over the last couple of days Facebook has rolled out some of the new features and already users are getting their panties in a bunch.
The pic is refering to the new live ticker on the right hand side of your Facebook homepage which will constantly update in real time.
They also removed the ‘Top’ news and ‘Recent’ news options. Instead you will get the top news at the beginning of your feed marked with a blue corner..and Facebook will decide what your top news will be depending on when you last logged in.
The other feature released recently was the subscribe option where you can customise your news feed to only include updates from people you subscribe to.
Users have been throwing tantrums over just those changes and you can expect more of the same when the social media giant announces further major updates today at the f8 conference in Sasn Francisco.
