Porche 918 Spyder is officially being produced
Posted by on Jul 30th, 2010

A while back we told you that Porche was thinking of producing a hybrid supercar, but they needed sufficient interest to start production.

Well i called and we chatted nonchalant about me buying a couple if they happened to make it. Seems like that did the trick hey because the 918 Spyder Hybrid Supercar is going into production.

You can sit next to me if you want and make “vroom vroom” noises.

“Michael Macht, President and Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG said “Production of the 918 Spyder in a limited series proves that we are taking the right approach with Porsche Intelligent Performance featuring the combination of supreme performance and efficient drivetrain concepts.”

“It was said that the hybrid should return 3-litres per 100km of fuel with CO2 emissions at only 79g/km. The 0-100kmh/h was hinted to be around 3.2 seconds.” [clutchd]

And don’t even sweat about the price my little spark plug. Together we are gonna win the SuperEna lotto tomorrow.

It’s at $147 million at the moment so let’s kick this pig shall we.
