Today is Nelson Mandela’s 92nd Birthday [video]
Posted by on Jul 18th, 2010

And it is the first time EVER the United Nations has set apart a world day in honour of one person.

That’s a pretty huge deal.

Happy Birthday Nelson Mandela.

You legend.

“Mandela Day on July 18 is an annual international day adopted by the United Nations. It is more than a celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy; it is a global movement to take his life’s work into a new century and change our world for the better. Mandela Day asks us all to embrace Madiba’s values and honour his legacy through an act of kindness. Who knows, it might leave you inspired enough to make every day a Mandela Day! Whether as an individual, community, business, non-governmental organisation (NGO) or a government department, all you have to do on July 18 is donate 67 minutes of your day to doing something good in any way you can. Nelson Mandela gave 67 years of his life to the struggle for social justice.” [wiki]

Here’s the video from the UN thanking Nelson Mandela: “he changed the world..we are profoundly grateful”. Worth a watch..gave me goosebumps.

Go on my son.

Fun Fact: Nelson Mandela has been honoured with more than 250 awards HERE aside from the Nobel Peace Prize.’ll feel pretty useless after reading that.
