ant on rubber rope

If last last week’s puzzle confused a few people then today’s Q&A is gonna completely leave you scratching your head.

Ant on a rubber rope puzzle:

An ant starts to crawl along a tight rubber rope 1km long at a speed of 1cm per second (relative to the rubber it is crawling on). At the same time, the rope starts to stretch by 1km per second (so that after 1 second it is 2km long, after 2 seconds it is 3km long, etc). Will the ant ever reach the end of the rope?

Chew on that.

Same as last week. If you have an answer then provide an explantion..because that’s what the smart folks do.

And don’t cheat by using the internets.

Good times.
