Apparently a white queen-sized bed was spotted in Cape Town yesterday at Depasco Bakery, corner Long and Kloof Street with people going mental jumping on the thing.
Love it. Everyone smiles when they jump on a bed hey.
Don’t have any pictures (someone send it if you got) from yesterday, but i did manage to find out what its all about though.
Its a project called PLAY JUMP EAT by conceptual artist Kelly Wainwright which will culminate in an auction of several playful photographs capturing “quintessential Capetonians” jumping on a bed. Like such.
That’s some of the cleaning staff at the Mount Nelson getting their jump on.
How cool is that. Apparently Desmond Tutu even did it.
Go check out the Messy Monkey Arts Blog for more.
The project is part of the Spier Public Arts Festival called Infecting the City that stages and exhibits high-quality, thought-provoking, boundary breaking works in the city of Cape Town’s communal spaces.
Good times.
