Posted by on Nov 29th, 2016

Uber South Africa and DStv have teamed up and given Cape Town users an early Christmas present…16 free Uber trips between the 1st and 30th December. We all know how bad traffic congestion and parking can be over the festive season so Uber has made your life easier and is giving you 16 free trips in the Cape Town CBD and along the Atlantic Seaboard this summer. If you havn’t signed up for Uber then there simply cannot be a better time to do so.

Here’s how you get those 16 free rides.

    – Open up your Uber app
    – Go to ‘Payment’ on the App Menu
    – Under ‘Promotions’, click on ‘Add Promo/Gift Code’
    – Enter DStv and click on the ADD button
    – Once applied successfully, the code will unlock the UberSUMMER vehicle view (close the app and give this 15 minutes to load)

    Easy as that.

Then when you ready to take a trip between 1st and 30th December

    – Open up your Uber app
    – Set your destination
    – Once you’re asked to select uberX, uberXL or UberBLACK, swipe right & select UberSUMMER
    – Request as usual
    – Enjoy your ride, free of charge, thanks to #UberSUMMER by DStv

Now there are some things you need to take note of.

    – The 16 free rides are up to R100 each. (you can’t take a free trip to Kynsna for eg)
    – The offer is valid between 1st December to 30th December from 8am to 8pm.
    – The offer is only available in the Cape Town CBD and along the Atlantic Seaboard with the demarcated area below
    – The trip must start and end within the demarcated area

    Now you know.

“Look out for #UberSUMMER by DStv branded vehicles in the Cape Town CBD and Atlantic Seaboard between the 1st and 30th December. You could find yourself in a KIA Rio, KIA Sedona or even the new KIA Sportage.”

    Awesome.

Sign up to Uber HERE if you havn’t done so already and get involved.
