Clearly Mercedes-Benz have realised that there is a market for bakkie owners who want a little more class with their utility vehicles and revealed a new pickup truck yesterday called the X-Class. It will be launched at the end of next year in South Africa and only a few other selected countries.
And the interior is of course the standard Merc luxury.
Plenty space to keep your biltong and Simba chips.
And here’s the video they showed at the launch in Sweden yesterday.
Lekker. No idea on price yet, but expect it to be a lot.
“Welcome to a new breed of Mercedes-Benz – the X-Class. Combining the best of both worlds, this bakkie comes in two variants.
Powerful adventurer illustrates that the future X-Class will possess all the strengths of a classic pickup – tough, functional, strong, and with off-road capability. The Concept X-CLASS stylish explorer goes a step further and shows what will distinguish the pickup bearing the Mercedes-Benz star.
It will be launched internationally in late 2017 under the name Mercedes-Benz X-Class – and South Africa will be one of its main markets.” [Mercedes-Benz SA]
