Uber launches food-delivery service UberEATS in South Africa
Posted by on Sep 28th, 2016

Uber has finally launched it’s food delivery app called UberEats in South Africa. Well only in Joburg for now partnering with 85 restaurants to deliver food directly to your door. You’ll have to download the seperate UberEats app from the Google Play and Apple App Store then use it the same ways as you would the normal Uber app with the same login details. Pick a restaurant, order what you want and an Uber driver will collect it and deliver it to your door for a minimum fixed fee of R20.

As with the regular Uber app, you’ll be able to see your driver and how far away he is with your food.

From what i’ve heard there is no need to include a tip since the restaurant fee and Uber delivery fee will be included in the price you will be charged via the app.

Here’s a video explaining the UberEATS app.

Will let you know when it’s available in Cape Town and the rest of SA.
