Ya we all have at some point or other moaned about the price of data in South Africa and how quickly it gets used up by your mobile network provider. We rant and complain, but deal with the fact that we simply just have to fork out money for data or else live in the dark ages. Mobile network providers keep coming up with new deals that are supposed to be better than the competition, but in the end people still think they are getting ripped off. Well enter Telkom and their new FreeMe packages which are apparently changing the game and from what i can tell have set the new benchmark.
How’s this for the entry level package. 1 GB of data for R99 that includes free voice calls via WhatsApp, BBM and Viber ie the data wont be deducted from your bundle. Then on top of that…free calls and sms’s to any Telkom number, mobile or landline.
The R599 package get you 20 GB of data as well as free calls to free calls to any other network in SA.
That pretty much smokes the other big mobile network providers. Especially the data free Whatsapp calls.
The packages will become available from the 25th July.
Well played Telkom.
Take notes Vodacom, Mtn etc…you got some serious competition if you don’t up your game.
