By now you should have heard that a Cape leopard was spotted in Betty’s Bay recently and killed penguins at Stony Point penguin sanctuary. If you’ve ever been to Betty’s Bay you will know that locals often refer to old stories of leopards coming down from the mountain and being spotted, but it has been a while since one actually ventured into the quiet seaside town and was seen. According to research data there are around 50 Cape leopards between the Kogelberg mountain range and Bain’s Kloof so spotting the elusive predator is a bonus…especially if you manage to take pics and video of one cruising through your garden. That’s exactly what resident Van As Jordaan captured recently though.
