If you’re an Uber user in Cape Town and want to lessen your carbon footprint then you’ll be stoked to hear that UberGREEN is launching in the mother city. It’s only available to top Uber riders and WRewards members from today onward, but from Monday June 13 all Uber users in the Cape Town CBD and along the Atlantic Seaboard will be able to request a ride in a 100% electric BMW i3.
This from Uber SA.
“Top Uber riders and WRewards Members in Cape Town will have access to UberGREEN from today and it will then open up to everyone in Cape Town from Monday 13th June to Wednesday 20th July.
HOW TO RIDE WITH UBERGREEN:
Open your Uber app
Select the UberGREEN option, set your pickup location and request a ride
If successful, you could find yourself taking a trip in an electric car
**UberGREEN will only be available between 7:00AM to 7:00PM every day and in Cape Town CBD and Atlantic Seaboard**
As UberGREEN is still a pilot project, the number of electric cars will be limited and you can expect demand to be high.”
Now you know.
