If you’re a Telkom customer and have a household land line or ADSL then you will know that on your monthly bill there is a line rental fee which for most people should be R189 per month. Well according to Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko, that line rental fee is due to be removed in future. Maseko spoke to Business Day tv and said that will no longer be an itemised line on your bill that says ‘line rental’.
This from Fin 24.
“It’s less about lines but actually about the service,” said Maseko in the interview.
“Very soon, in your own household, your bill will no longer have ‘line’. It will just be a package of 25GB or 50GB; we’ll price it, and there won’t be an itemised line that says line rental,” said Maseko. [more HERE]
I wouldn’t celebrate just yet since you never know…they may just scrap the line rental fee and increase the packages by R189 or somehow work it into some other costs.
