We a good run at the end of last year and beginning of 2016 with the price of petrol going down across South Africa, but that came to an end with a rise in April, May and tomorrow (1st June) will see yet another price hike of 52 cents per litre. Diesel will also be going up 76 cents per litre.
And as is customary with a price increase we throw out this little pic to mark the occasion.
Or maybe we should start using THIS image of a petrol station in Grassy Park which sums up nicely how South Africans feel.
And oh…expect the prices to keep increasing this year if things don’t stabilise.
“With South Africa’s weak economy, our concern is that even if oil prices moderate, further declines in the rand will mask the benefit. It is possible that fuel prices will test new highs in the coming months, placing yet more stress on consumers,” [Fin4]
Now you know.
