The social media age has brought with it massive influence and marketing potential especially for those celebrities who have tens of millions of followers. The fashion world in particular has adapted to use celebrities as ambassadors to leverage their massive following. Take for example Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid who have over 70 million combined followers on Instagram. They have been used in high fashion campaigns and graced the covers of high profile fashion magazines so does that make them supermodels?

Well Vogue decided to find out and ask social media who thought that Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid were not ‘true supermodels’. The response was sensational.

vogue kendall and gigi

And the verdict.

vogue kendall everyone

Haaaaha. And that’s only a tiny sample. It just goes on and on. Pretty much EVERYONE said they though Kendall and Gigi were not true supermodels.

And rightly so.

They have nothing on Cindy, Claudia, Christy and Helena.
