Random bit of rugby trivia for you. New Zealand rugby legend and arguably the greatest rugby player of all time, Richie McCaw, has revealed the name of the greatest team he has ever played rugby against and South African supporters will be stoked to know that it is none other than the 2009 Springbok team. McCaw was asked the question by AIG Rugby, one of the All Blacks sponsors.

If you remember, the 2009 Springboks was named IRB team of the year and beat New Zealand three times in the tri nations series.

The squad named for the tri-nations included the following players.

Forwards: Andries Bekker, Bakkies Botha, Heinrich Brüssow, Bismarck du Plessis, Jannie du Plessis, Ryan Kankowski , Victor Matfield, Tendai Mtawarira, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Danie Rossouw, John Smit, Juan Smith, Pierre Spies (Blue Bulls).

Backs: Jean de Villiers, Fourie du Preez, Jaque Fourie, Bryan Habana, Adi Jacobs, Ricky Januarie, Ruan Pienaar, JP Pietersen, Frans Steyn, Morné Steyn.
