  • Win these amazing Philips 5000 and 7000 series shavers
Posted by on Feb 4th, 2016

Ask any guy about shaving and he will most likely roll his eyes at the thought of having to go through the process of trimming his facial hair.

Unfortunately, we can’t all never shave and grow huge hipster beards, so the majority of us have to shave with a (probably blunt) razor or use a sub-standard electric shaver that either leaves us with cuts, skin irritation or does a poor job of making you look slick and presentable.

But it doesn’t have to be that way though. You see…you’ve most likely not acquired a decent shaver and are now just settling for average, whereas you should totally be investing in a quality electric shaver. And it doesn’t get any better than the new Philips 5000 and 7000 Series shavers.

They are like the luxury supercars of shavers and I’ve got one of each to give away. Sounds good? Then keep reading and if you’re a lady then get involved, because Valentine’s Day is coming up and your man will thank you to no end if you give him either of these.

    Check these bad boys out.

    philips aquatouch

    philips 5000

    philips 7000

Those are the benchmarks in the shaving world my friends. Cutting edge technology.

Not just any shavers. Have a look at what they are capable of.

    THE 5000 RANGE:

Developed for the mover and shaker, the Philips AquaTouch Wet & Dry electric shaver protects the skin, while providing a refreshing shave. The AquaTouch shaver’s rounded profile glides across your face, as the MultiPrecision blades and flexible head lift hairs for a fast, close shave without the dreaded nicks and cuts.

With the AquaTouch Wet & Dry seal, you can opt for a quick yet comfortable dry shave or wet shave with gel, foam or even under the shower. The shaver’s intuitive display will at a glance inform you of power and cleaning levels, ensuring there are no surprizes or delays.

Either way, the Li-ion batteries will carry you through about 15 shaves before you will need the 1 hour charge for full power or just 5 minutes for a quick touch-up.

Another addition to the range is the Philips 5000 Series dry electric shaver with Turbo+ mode. This shaver is all about speed and efficiency, with 20% more power speeding through even dense parts of your beard.

The multifunctional machine will cater to your entire grooming routine with a nose and ear trimmer and a click-on skin-friendly moustache and sideburn trimmer. The 5-directional head raises and cuts all hairs and remaining stubble, for a smooth shave in a shorter space of time.

    THE 7000 RANGE:

The Philips 7000 Wet & Dry Series shaver takes the edge off shaving.

Designed specifically for sensitive skin, its comfort rings with unique antifiction microbead coating allows the shaver to glide across your face, gently lifting hairs for a close and sensitive shave with the double blade.

Philips specially-designed blade system will help lift even your finest hairs to its ideal cutting point for a closer shave, without the irritation and damage. The powerful battery allows 50 minutes of cordless shaving after just an hour of charging.

Select shavers in the Philips 7000 range also comes with a cleansing brush, developed for gentle treatment on sensitive skin. The brush simply clicks onto the shaver for use together with the cleanser of your choice. The 32,000 active bristles thoroughly and gently clean even the hardest-to-reach areas of your face for smooth and healthy looking skin.

The Philips 5000 and 7000 Series shavers are available at selected Clicks and Dischem stores; the Philips 5000 Series ranges from R1399 to R2899, while the Philips 7000 ranges from R2399 to R2599 for the top-end shaver.

    It is sensational.

Right now here’s how you can win one of those awesome Philips electric shavers. I’m gonna give one of them away on Twitter and the other to someone who leaves a comment below this post. You are welcome to enter both ways to maximise your chances.

First up for those on Twitter, follow @PhilipsMenSA and me @lifeissavage so i can track entries.

I once clipped a ball, shaving with a crappy old shaver.

For the safety of my balls, I request this lovely device. :)

The 7000 looks killer – never used an electric razor in my life, seemed like old school dad vibes… My pops had one when I was a young, that he would pretend was a “walky talky” would “call”” the local farmer Dukett to come an deliver jelly tots to our holiday shack in Langabaan… fell for it every time, many a long afternoon sitting on the fence waiting….

I would love the Philips 7000 series shaver for sensitive skin mainly because it would’ve been such a pleasure to use on the day the “PAALIE” at my high school summoned me out of the class line and introduced me to the standard orange and white BIC razor which he kept in his top drawer! Now this would have all been avoided if I had just bunked with the rest of the brasse that day but know I mos wanted to stay for the kinnes…plus I was looking on punt cos my grassies were freshly polished and shining, pants had that fresh pleat and my shirt had the Chinese collar look with a small sided tie, FRESH! But ja off I had to go for a dry wipe shave…water, school soap and a BIC. After a last look at my Magnum-esque stache I began the torture. 15min later I came out looking like I was attacked by Chris Brown…lip was duk, blood and acne everywhere! Clearly an allergic reaction. Without the stache my lip resembled Homer Simpson’s but with a fungus like green tinge, what part of the game was this!…needless to say the cool factor dropped a bit. Save a man Philips!

    No BullKaKa here

Sad story – I still have my Electric from 2002 – it is quite tired and wants to retire
The 7000 looks like it will fit nicely in place of my grandpa one

    Help me …

I’m not greedy so I’d be happy with either but if I did have to choose between cutting myself constantly with my regular overpriced standard razor blades then I’d go with the Philips 7000!
Can’t see my Mrs standing in the shower shaving her legs with that bad boy! This is a mans toy!!!!! Women go buy your own blades we’re using Philips!

I had been using a conventional razor to shave my beard. Monday morning I shaved as per usual, thinking it’s a close shave. I got to work and everyone kept on saying ‘I love the new look’ thinking nothing of it I went through my day normally, only to realize hours later that my close shave with that razor left me looking like a hipster with a botched up beard. I need the Phillips 7000 series for a proper shave

I would love the series 7000 for my hubby. I’m soooo tired of his beard and trying to convince him to shave it off. Think this could be the persuasion that I need to get him to take it all off :-). Already looking forward to feeling his nice smooth face presses against mine, and not the fuzz of hair poking at me and leaving me with rash burn….

    Yoh Yoh Yoh
jislaaaik these things look mooi. I have not used a regular blade razor since my teens (I am mos old now I have grey beard hair if I let it grow) I would hate for my chikadee to see my grey beard hair. The last thing I want is have to use that buffelsfontein baard oilie. I am not one of them beerse oaks that could act out that advert. Anyhow, I have an old philips Shaver and its bluntish so my chin is taking a slight beating.

A while ago I picked up one of those philips bodygroom thingamajigs. Noooit bru, if you watch their advert it definitely gives you an extra optical inch! (ifyouknowwhatiamsaying)
These razors need an adaptor on them that can get into other nooks and crannies, like ..ears? Us oldies grow hair out our ears and noses and they need a trim too sometimes.

If I could could get one of these new puppies my facial skin would be very happy with me and probably have less spots and stray hairs floating around.

    hook me up!

    Hi Savage
I must say that the Philips rotary-head system is the best for electric shaving. When in the bush I use an OLD Philips 40 rotary-head (no water – see) shaver and it still outperforms anything else I have tried there.
At home, I have recently tried wet-shaves -cheaper outlay- (with a vibrating razor and gel), when my 3-head Philips rechargeable died after about 20 years (again the then-top model with the rotary heads).
In short, if I win or not, I do believe that the Phillips system is the best on the market.

Incidentally, the cleansing brush system on the 7000 looks like something useful. However the shave is what it is all about, and I assume both series (7000 and 5000 series) give an equally good shave.

Would love to win the Phillips 7000 for my hubby as a birthday/ valentines gift as i am a stay home mom and can’t buy him anything. Also this will give him no more excuses not to shave as my son and I hate when he grows a beard because it’s so scratchy on our skin. Alternatively he is a sub mariner and goes away sometimes and when he gets back he resembles a caveman lol then i have to use hair clippers to first trim his beard before he can shave properly. Also hoping this will help stop his skin from becoming irritable and damaged. fingers crossed!

Phillips 7000 sounds ridiculously amazing. This would be the perfect valentines day gift for my husband. And secretly for me as well lol. He doesn’t seems to want to shave Need to get him to fall in love with a shaver so he can look like the sexy guy when I first met him. He believes his beard suites him and refuses to shave because ‘all shavers spoil my face’ This sounds like a winner and i’ll get my young man back. Happily ever after after a Phillips 7000

I’ve never been a person who loves hair on a guy, and my boyfriend has now decided to grow a beard…the more unfortunate part other than his new facial hair is that it is Ginger… We all know about no-friends-gingers. I’m afraid he won’t have friends left if he continues to grow it. The Philips 7000 might be my only hope for him.

I don’t think I am getting a valentine so would really appreciate winning the Phillips 7000. It would make being alone on valentines day a lot more tolerable.

At the moment I am using the yellow bic disposable and my skin looks like the guy from the Hills have Eyes movie.

    Good luck me

I would like to win the The Philips 7000 Wet & Dry Series shaver for my unkept, unneat and forgetful husband (only in the bearded way).

Yes, a little bit of stubble is sexy but hell no! to the untidy mess. Just like some men like their lady friends shaven at certain bits – I like my man to have a clean shave where the beard is currently taking over.

Please help this desperate wife to clean up her husbands messy facial hair!?

The 7000 series would be wonderful. As I am lazy to shave, the 7000 would do wonders for my baby soft sensitive skin, which means shaving will happen more frequently. My wife would love it and will not have to worry about food or other creepy crawlies in my beard.

My dad is in need of a shaver and I would love to win The Philips 7000 Wet & Dry Series shaver for him. I don’t have a funny crazy story to share only the truth to tell. My reasons for wanting to win this for him: My Dad is strong, and carries so much hope within him.He always has caring and compassionate words along with being able to relate and break it down. He is such a hard worker that he over does it, doesn’t know how to stop sometimes , and lives in a stressful state of being most of the time, but always makes time to be there for his family. His mum was an amazing special angel who taught my Dad so many good things…leaving an amazing Man here on earth to continue that way of being. My Dad is my inspiration. Despite all the hardship life has thrown at us, he has never complained and never lost his smile. I recall as a little girl little, how my Dad who was the only sole bread winner at the time, struggled financially to raise a family of seven kids and always taking care of mum, who was constantly in & out of hospital because of her severe Bipolar problem. Dad used to cook for us, pick us up from school and took care of mum as well. My Dad is always positive and the bravest man I know. . Dad is a kind and gentle soul that touches the hearts of all those who cross his path; and even though he has recently suffered a major Stroke he continues to put a smile on his face and take on the world! For his sincere commitment, ongoing dedication to his family, I would love to present him with a gift he needs and I know it is something he would truly love and appreciate. Giving him a Philips Shaver would be my way of thanking him for everything he has done for us.

AS A LATE BLOOMER….. I was fortunate enough not to have to shave much, even past my twenties.
The “Stubble” I had could only be described as “Bum fluff” !!! This wasnt an issue until i hit my thirties and HELLO!! A Beard has appeared and I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. Using Regular blades causes me to break out in Rashes!!! I am relying on the opportunity to win a Philips 7000 Wet & Dry Series shaver, to help me into the world of the smooth shave , a right of passage into manhood that I wish I had conquered many years ago!
