BBC Africa edits headline about black people causing race row on SA beach [pics]

If you’re still in holiday mode then you may have missed the social media outrage surrounding Durban real estate agent Penny Sparrow who is at the centre of a race-row after she took to Facebook and described black beach-goers as ‘monkeys’ on New Years Day. She then followed that with an apology that made her life a whole lot worse after she said “I made the mistake of comparing them with monkeys. Monkeys are cute and they’re naughty, but they don’t see it that way”.

Anyway..the story went viral and BBC Africa published an article. Their initial headline though caused confusion after several people pointed out that it made it seem as if black people caused the race row.

That was soon deleted and changed to this.
