List of stores in South Africa offering Black Friday 2015 deals
Posted by on Nov 24th, 2015

Ok so you should know by now that Black Friday is happening this Friday 27 November. It is traditionally a US thing on the first Friday after Thanksgiving and is regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season where retailers open early and offer promotions at considerable discounts. Well South Africans don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but an increasing number of shops have jumped on the Black Friday sales and are offering some huge savings. Everyone loves a good deal so who cares. Get your festive season on and stop complaining.

I scouted around and found the following for now. Just click them to go to the corresponding website.

Stuttafords is offering a mystery Black Friday discount but you have to join their Royalty (loyalty) programme.
Also @Home has announced via email to look out for their Black Friday deals.
I sent an email to H&M pointing out that their international branches have Black Friday deals and asking if they were offering a local one, they replied not- it seems a bit discriminatory.
Dion Wired offered an online Black Friday sale last year and is advertising a Black Friday sale again on their website.

Thanks for sharing the other offers.

It’s great that sales are happening here but R30 off some crappy gadget I would never buy normally is not a sale. SA has a long way to go to a proper Black Friday sale.

It is wonderful that South Africa has also embraced the marking down of products on ‘Black Friday’. Perhaps part of the implementation of ‘Black Friday’ should be to inform South Africans of the History, where it came from and why we are following this practice…
Random people I asked, thought it all doom & gloom and that black Friday was to commemorate an epidemic of some sort… Interesting don’t you agree?
Kind regards
Christina
