  • Win 4 tickets to the Cape Town Festival of Beer 2015
Posted by on Nov 13th, 2015

It’s that legendary time of year again when the largest and most comprehensive festival of beer in the Southern Hemisphere spreads happiness to thousands in Cape Town. Featuring over 200 beers from 60 breweries, the Cape Town Festival of Beer returns to Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point on the 27th, 28th and 29th of November. And i’ve got two sets of double tickets to give away to you lucky readers. Sound good? Well then keep reading my little beer lover.

The Festival is South Africa’s largest annual gathering of beer enthusiasts, connoisseurs and those just wanting to learn more about beer. The weekend promises great entertainment including a variety of brewers, food stalls, music and is a highlight on the Cape Town social calendar.

Expect over 60 breweries – both international and local – with limited edition beers brewed just for the Festival. Also, learn more about the appreciation of artisanal beer and perfect food choices to pair with each brew.

This year the Cape Town Festival of Beer will be bringing you guided beer tours with experts to ensure you get the most out of your experience. Let your guide take you around while you meet the brewers and sample a variety of beers, watch home brewing demonstrations and participate in blind tastings. And if that’s not enough there will also be a beer judging competition, beer merchandise for sale, lucky draws, and raffles.

Right now onto winning those tickets. As always i’ll give away two tickets on Twitter and two tickets to someone who leaves a comment beneath this post. Obviously it is encouraged to enter both ways to maximise your chances of winning.

    1. For those on Twitter…firstly follow @FestOfBeer and @lifeissavage so i can track entries. Then send out the following Tweet.

I can’t wait to try the two new Darling beers, the Rogue Pony and the Thunder Bird. The other Darling brews are exceptional and I expect the Pale Ale and IPA to be no different!

There are so many brewers that will be at the festival and it took me a long time to scroll through all of them and only choose one. But since I HAVE TO choose to enter this competition I’m gonna go with Jack Black. Why? Because Lumber Jack, that’s why! It’s one of my all time favourite beers. My friends all know already. If there’s Lumber Jack on the menu I’ll be having it.

Being a craft beer fanatic I would love to try out Aegir Project’s beer as they’re a new brewery to me and their American style California Common sounds delicious. Also their name is so fitting once you know who Aegir is.. (Aegir is the Norse god of the ocean and is known for throwing wild parties where he brews batches of ale for the gods, I want to join them!)

Darling Breweries never ceases to amaze by offering high quality beer at pretty student friendly prices 😛 Bonecrusher has been my go-to beer for a long time, but reading up on their new Rogue Pony pale ale makes me pretty sure I’ll have a new favourite very soon. As someone who is still getting her tongue used to hoppy flavours, the pale ale provides some much appreciated balance. So, help a sista out! 😉

Just like a moth is drawn to a flame; I am drawn to beer. Beer has the ability to transform lives, solve problems and create families. It can even instigate fun and be the driving force behind unforgettable memories and the best stories. Anyway, l really want to try Stickman’s IPA. I have not yet come across this brewery before, and I love the idea that Johan went from IT to BEER – a legend in my eyes already. Cannot wait to give it a taste!
