Ok so earlier in the week i told you about 3yr old DJ, Oratilwe Hlongwane, who won SA’s Got Talent and a first prize of R500 000. While the majority of people were stoked that he won, there is some controversy surrounding his victory. A few people have questioned whether he was actually DJ’ing or faking his performance since it appears that an audio output cable was not plugged into the controller.
I know nothing about DJ’ing so have no idea whether or not his setup was correct.
A few similar pictures did the rounds on social media show the lack of audio out cables. His father took to Facebook though to explain and ‘educate’ those doubting his sons performance.
Apparently the audio out cables were connected to the laptop and “when you use a computer and a controller you have 2 options when it comes to audio out, it is either you go with the computers audio out or the controllers audio out. Usually I use the controllers audio out but it gave us a buzzing sound so we had to go with the computers audio out, makes no difference really.”
Maybe though some DJ or music tech savvy people can comment and shed some light.
