If you live along the Atlantic Seaboard you will no doubt have noticed a rather abnormal amount of whales offshore last week. I managed to see several just off the promenade in Sea Point, but that pales in comparison to the pic taken by Jean Tresfon who captured a massive feeding aggregation of over 50 humpback whales from the air just off Scarborough. He initially thought it was a huge pod of dolphins, but on closer inspection realised they were humpback whales.

How cool is that. The day Jean took the images he reckons the ocean was ‘the cleanest water I’ve ever seen on the Atlantic Seaboard’.
