Posted by on Sep 2nd, 2015

Did you know that the world’s oldest toy shop, Hamleys, has opened a store in Cape Town? Well you do now. I remember when i was a kid and went to Hamleys in London and having my mind blown walking around 7 floors of toys. It was founded in 1760 and has become one of the world’s most famous toy shops. And now there is one in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront.

Given the state of the Rand, you’d do well to buy toys at the Cape Town one instead of the one in London.

“Occupying 1088.2sm of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, ‘The Finest Toy Shop in the World’ promises an exciting in-store concept where play takes centre stage.

Shoppers will step into a magical toy wonderland that is stocked with a mind-boggling array of over 15 000 toys.”

Good times.

The store can be found on the Ground Level in Kings Warehouse of the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre.

Now you know.
