Fifa ex-vice president, Jack Warner, has already been accused of corruption and now you can add world-class douchebag to the list after allegations from the US justice department claim that he diverted $750 000 in relief funds meant for victims of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti into bank accounts he controlled. Reports via the BBC allege that the bank accounts were for ‘personal use’.

Ya…bribing officials for votes is one thing, but stealing emergency fund money is offside.

“In papers drawn up by US investigators and seen by the BBC, Warner is accused of diverting US$750,000 in emergency funds donated by Fifa and the Korean Football Association intended for victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

The BBC reports US investigators alleging the money went to accounts controlled by Warner, at “Warner’s direction” for his “personal use”. [Guardian]

It’s estimated that the bribes and kickbacks amount to more than $150m over a 24-year period.
