The UK, Australia and China have issued travel warnings for people visiting South Africa
Posted by on Apr 23rd, 2015

Cape Town may have won several awards for world’s best travel destination, but right now it looks like foreigners may be doubting a trip to South Africa especially after the UK, Australia and China issued travel warnings recently saying visitors to SA need to exercise a high degree of caution due to high levels of serious crime.

That’s the warning from Australia.

China has issued an amber alert warning saying “Residents intending to visit the country or who are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.” [Mail & Guardian]

Clearly this will affect the tourism industry. It’s still just an advisory and the lowest type at the moment, but i’m sure there are more than just a few people reconsidering a trip to SA right now.
