The Proteas were sent a late night SMS ultimatum before the semi-final
Posted by on Mar 31st, 2015

The drama surrounding  selection interference in the Proteas team prior to their World Cup semi-final against New Zealand is getting serious after it was reported this morning that Haroon Lorgat, CEO of Cricket South Africa, sent an SMS at 1am to Russel Domingo (Proteas head coach) giving him an ultimatum to pick another player of colour for the game. According to the Beeld, Lorgat sent the SMS saying either Philander had to be picked ahead of Abbott or Behardien instead of Roussouw. Apparently both AB de Villiers and Philander refused to play, but were forced to.

My Afrikaans is not the greatest, but that’s pretty much what Netwerk 24 is reporting i take it.

Pity that is has come to this.

[thanks Ryan]
