Street artist Banksy is well known for his political and social commentary using graffiti as a medium, but he has gone one step further this time by releasing a 2 min documentary from within Gaza. The video was posted on his official website yesterday and shows what is presumed to be Banksy himself entering Gaza through a tunnel and filming what life is like in the war-torn region. Prior to releasing the video he posted several images onto his official Instagram account of graffiti work done on walls in Gaza including this one which he explained as “A local man came up and said ‘Please — what does this mean?’ I explained I wanted to highlight the destruction in Gaza by posting photos on my website — but on the Internet people only look at pictures of kittens.”
Here’s the video.
And here’s more images of the art he left within Gaza.
