With Eskoms load shedding mess taking centre stage right in South Africa it seems that some good news has been overlooked. While we were all sitting in darkness the petrol price in SA dropped a massive 93 cents per litre yesterday and diesel went down by R1.02per litre. That’s a pretty significant amount especially considering that it also dropped the same amount at the beginning of January.
Well for now at least. This from the department of energy.
“The Department of Energy herewith informs the public that the prices of petrol, diesel, Illuminating paraffin and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will decrease with effect from the 4 th February 2015 . South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis , informed by international and local factors.”
“Fuel prices Adjustments for February 2015. Based on current local and international factors, the fuel pr ices for February 2015 in the South African market will be adjusted as follows:
1. Petrol will decrease by 93 cents/litre.
2. Diesel will de crease by 102 cents/ litre [Department of Energy]
Think that positive news deserves a round of applause hey.
