Win 2 weekend passes to the Electric Vines NYE Music Festival worth R1600
Posted by on Dec 15th, 2014

It’s that time of year when there are so many awesome events happening that you have to carefully choose which ones you want to be at and New Years eve is probably the one night when there are just too many options. Top of your list though should be the Electric Vines NYE music festival taking place at Arabella Wine Estate in the beautiful Robertson valley. If you havn’t already got tickets then best you get your hands on some hey. Have you seen the line-up and venue…it’s premium. Lucky for you though i’ve got 2 weekend passes valued at R1600 to give away so if you havn’t made plans then get involved. And if you’ve already made plans then change them coz just look at this line-up.

And that’s the backdrop where you’ll be hanging out for the weekend. Spectacular way to bring in 2015.

Here’s the full lineup

And you can see there that the very first act is Grace Town who beat out four impressive upcoming bands at Aces ‘n Spades bar in Cape Town, to win the coveted prize of becoming the Opening Act at the Electric Vines Music Festival. Nicely done.

Now here’s how you can win those 2 Weekend Passes worth R800 each.

First up follow @ElectricVines on Twitter to keep up to date with info about the festival then head on over to the Electric Vines website HERE and then tell me in the comment section beneath this post which artists you are most keen to see. Be original, funny, desperate know the drill.

And as a bonus…i’m gonna give away a bottle of Monkey Shoulder to the winner as well. One of my favourite whiskies you can enjoy while you’re at the festival.

Now get involved. It’s gonna be one of the best NYE parties.

Will pick at the end of this week. T&C’s apply…as i you must be 18 years or older (i’ll be asking for a copy of your ID) and you have to sort out your own travel and accomodation at the festival.

UPDATE: winner chosen as Kim M. Thanks everyone for entering. Wish i could give you all tickets.

Jeez, where to start begging/explaining/creating a whole Powerpoint presentation to fully show my want for this…

1. I’m going to be in Robertson over that period for a few weeks and I am going to be mostly dead bored after the initial wind down phase. Not even all the wine there quite keeps you entertained for long.
2. Never been to a concert, never mind a music festival, in my life (I’m not kidding…barring a brief stop at a Paul van Dyk concert 3 years ago, and I don’t remember much from that night…um)
3. If I get this, it’d no doubt be the best NYE and trip to the Cape I’ve had yet, and will make up for all the less than great previous ones, including that one year where I had to sit and watch a 7de Laan New Year’s Eve special with my family (again, not kidding)
4. If I win, I’m so taking my younger brother with me and showing him the best time he’s likely to have ever had, or could have with a sibling, possibly ever. Also, perfect bonding experience after not hanging out for nearly 2 years (we both work too damn hard)

All that aside, undeniable and total bragging rights that I had an amazing kick-off to 2015, get to make up for previous lack of live music with one giant monster truckload of it and knowledge that my home town can kick ass in a way that would make even the big cities run off tail between the legs.

Artists wise, it’s a very, very hard toss up between Gangs of Ballet and Prime Circle. Don’t make me beg. I am open to negotiations though :)

Jeremy Loops, Matthew Mole, Prime Circle, Goodluck & Jesse Clegg who could ask for such a awesome and legen-wait-for-it-dary lineup! If I win then this will be the first ‘rock/music’ NYE festival I went to without the techno and ‘trance’ elements and I’m hoping for it to be a blast!

Plus I win these tickets then I shall be taking my soon-to-be girlfriend with and hopefully while there or afterwards, she will finally say yes! :)

P.S. she doesn’t know I’ve entered ;D

Thank you for the opportunity Savage @! <3

Every single South African Band there!!!! I have just arrived back from America (seriously no place like home) and have been immensely deprived from good old South African music so am in desperate need of our casual and insane vibe that we seem to do so well! I totally want to brag about all these bands to my foreign friends so the exposure would be great 😉

Dear Jimmy Nevis,

This festival is going to be Thee Jam, alongside two of my best friends Pascal & Pearce, we plan to be in the Prime Circle when Matthew Mole takes center stage.
We wanted to originally go to Sun City but we didn’t have enough Dean Fuel to get there, so we Evicted that idea. Decided to get a little Jeremy Loops and packed a cooler bag full of Just Jinjer.
I packed my Gangs of Ballet shoes in because I knew us Night Natives were going to start a Red Tape Riot.
Congrats and GOODLUCK to Grace Town.

Joooohhh! Come Thursday we all going to be DeadBeat.
Warm Regards,

After looking at this SIIICK line up it’s difficult to decide on who I’m looking most forward to seeing!!

So to be quite honest I’m looking forward to Jam and go crazy for every act because they are all pretty damn amazing! (Kudos to spoiling us 😉 )

However the one that I’ll probably go the extra mile for is Pascal and Pearce as I only recently discovered them and they take Electro/Progressive House to the next level!

Now I’m sure you are wondering why I should be the one to deserve these tickets? and the answer is pretty obvious..because I’m a festival junkie that would love to Win some tickets for a change and you will definitely be making my day and my year \:D/….and…if that is not enough…I am open to negotiate giving up a kidney or my 1st born… so take your pick 😛

Hey! My friend and I would love to go this! We’re both foreign students here just getting exposure to South African music abd we want to get the full NYE experience! Also, I recently met some Scottish people who instilled a love a whiskey so I want that whiskey. I’m not sure how I can beg and plead and not sound like everyone else, so instead I’ll barter with you. If you’ve ever wanted to hang out with some penguins, I can make that happen. Because who the fuck doesn’t love penguins. Or you can just take me to the beach and I’ll fight some sharks or something. I’ll be your indentured marine biologist. And I’ll trade you a bottle of whiskey from my countrycountry. So free tickets and whiskey for free penguins and whiskey. Sounds like a fair trade.

Going to Electric Vines NYE Party would end off my 2014 on a great note and set the tone for my 2015!! My favourite artists would have to be Pascal & Pearce and also Chris Taylor & Jak Skandi. Give me the opportunity PLEASE !

Oh my freak!!!! I would down that bottle of whiskers and run naked across the campsite pretending I’m the ice hockey player who made an ass of himself thinking mandela was a good ice hockey player. I would ask people who jeremy loops is; I would ask mr Loops if I can wear his custom all stars, challenge him to a sing off of Down South.
