  • Win 2 sets of double tickets to see The Lumineers in Cape Town with Virgin Mobile
Posted by on Nov 12th, 2014

So i’m guessing the reason you’re reading this post is because you don’t have Lumineers tickets to their Cape Town performance at Kirstenbosch on the 4th and 5th December hey. Tickets were sold out in like seconds and either you were too slow or didn’t have the cash, but either way i have two sets of double tickets to give away to The Lumineers in CT so keep reading if you’re interested. There’s also a chance to score a VIP Lumineers experience where you can meet the band courtesy of Virgin Mobile, but more on that below. And when i say VIP i’m not kidding.

Right first up is the 2 sets of double tickets i’m giving away to two lucky readers. One set on Twitter and the other to someone who leaves a comment beneath this post.

    For those on Twitter:

Win 2 sets of double tickets to see The Lumineers in CT with @virginmobilesa and @lifeissavage http://bit.ly/1wSTOLi

Tell me what you’re going say to them if you do win. Be creative, funny, desperate..anything to stand out.

Easy as that hey. Feel free to enter both ways.

I’ll pick winners on the 19th November..so a week from now.

Virgin Mobile SA! I’d start with “Hey” and take it from there 😉

    November 11, 2014 at 3:04 pm

I’d say ‘you married us’! wait for them to freak out, and then explain that I walked down the aisle to their “Ho Hey” (which I did, when I got married in April last year). A group photo with them, myself and my husband would look brilliant next to one of our wedding pics!

Would have absolutely love to attend – but simply couldn’t afford tickets. Help me, please?

Virgin Mobile is pretty awesome, and bringing us The Lumineers.

Virgin Mobile is bringing the awesome aka The Lumineers.

I would say the following to them: “I won tickets to meet you guys on this awesome blog called Life is Savage. What it even more awesome is that he did the draw for the tickets on the 19th of November which just happened to be my birthday. Can you imagine a more awesome birthday present? No, I didn’t think so either”.

They would think this was so awesome they would invite me to hit the town with them after the show and we’d paint the town red and end up singing their own songs in the Kimberley at 5AM.

Seriously, its my birthday on the 19th. 😉

Virgin Mobile is so amazing for bringing the Lumineers!

    I would say:

(Ho!) I’ve been meaning to let you know
(Hey!) I’ve been trying to see your show
(Ho!) Your songs are always in my head
(Hey!) What more can be said.
(Ho!) Sleep in my bed ?
    (Hey!)

Haha Well maybe I wouldn’t say that exactly, I would probably stand in silence for a moment before maybe crying.

    Please please please pick me.

I actually just wrote an exam paper about virgin mobile… Coincidence? I think not!
Anyway…. so.. >>>>>>>>VIRGIN MOBILE<<<<<<<< is the awesome mobile provider to give us this amazing opportunity!

The Lumineers are literally one of my favourite bands! I love their music sooo much! I jam them in my room, car, house, friend's car and house, outside, in my head…. basically just walk to the rhythm of their beats! From chilled "Slow It Down" to rhythmic "Big Parade", I love them all!
I'd ask them if they like cheese. I'd ask them what made them decide to come to SA…. (I'm very curious) And Id ask them if I could sing a song with them! That would be beyond awesome!

So.. I'm asking you very nicely, desperately, directly and honestly to please give me the chance to go check these guys out! It would be the best early Christmas present EVER!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Life is savage, if you your cellphone service provider is not with Virgin Mobile SA!

Once I made it passed the pearly gates I would ask:
Lumineers (styled LUMINEERS) are dental veneers made of a unique porcelain. So wait, did you name your band after false shiny white teeth?

    Virgin Mobile SA…

I would initially embarrass myself out of nervousness with my cheesy ho hey comments and puns.
Then swiftly try to recover dignity by mentioning something a crazy fan would know like that I know that their original name was “free beer” and how its ironic because I bet they do get a lot of free beer now… and pass them some home brewed gold 
After braking the ice with a cold one, I would welcome them to beautiful Cape Town and tell them a bit about Kirstenbosch gardens.

Virgin Mobile is bringing this great band to SA!

I would try play it cool and be like Hey, how you enjoying Cape Town? What you been up to in SA?
Then I’d probably lose all my ‘coolness’ and blurt out that this is my 6 year anniversary on the 6th Dec and my husband bought me their vinyl last year for our anniversary but I won us tickets on this great site and how great they are live!

As I’ve been unemployed the last few months I couldn’t afford tickets – can you feel my desperation here?! (I wouldn’t mention that though haha)

I would LOVE LOVE TO RECEIVE these tickets for my 16 year old sister who absolutely adores, and is insanely IN LOVE with the Lumineers. She’s honestly been crying on my shoulder for the last few weeks begging for miracles. I know she’d be super appreciative and smother Them with endless hugs and marriage proposals (Probably to every guy in the band). haha.
” I DON’T GAMBLE BUT IF I DID I WOULD BET ON US” — That would probably be her words.

I'd probably say something in the line of sometimes classy girls kiss at concerts 😉

Joking, but I really really want the tickets! I have a ticket for the 5th but I'd love if two of my best friends can come along since they also know like every word to every lumineers song! Pleaaaase consider me!

Virgin Mobile SA are bringing the Lumineers to SA

Well I don’t think they know much about rugby so couldn’t talk about that but would try a conversation about surfing – maybe take them to a spot!

Then I’d thank them for coming here as I earned serious brownie points with my wife for winning tickets for our anniversary!

Hope to win these and be husband of the year!

“Hey Lumineers, I’ve been to Colorado, where you’re from, and it’s beautiful. But you know what the most beautiful venue in the world is? Kirstenbosch. It’s just a bloody stunning place to see one of your favourite bands play. Your concert takes place on my last weekend in Cape Town before the government’s immigration laws force me to leave this country forever, and I can’t think of a better way to spend it than here with you and my wonderful friends. This night means a helluva lot to me, and I’ll try not too cry too much, so I wanted to say thanks for letting me spend it with you.”

Virgin Mobile SA! I would say to them, “hey hoe”, and then say they probably get that a lot. I’d tell them they’re probably the only reason why people still respect hipsters cos they make them less pretentious, hoping they’d laugh and take it as a compliment. I’d show them their LP I bought and ask them to spit on it so I can frame it. I would ask them to sing the Bob Dylan cover they did and ask to sing it with them, only if Wesley let me wear his hat cos I know that’s where their magic lies.

    VIRGIN MOBILE!

I’d ask them my favourite ice-breaker question… Boxers or briefs?

Then I’d tell them how their song Gale Song is one of my favourite songs in the world because the lyrics “I stood in line for love…” is sung with so much passion and feeling that you can almost hear someone’s heart break as they let their loved one go. That song helped me through a very difficult time and hearing it now empowers me because I let go of something I never thought I would :)
So thank you Lumineers for showing me that I was brave enough!

Please guys I need these tickets I was so bleak that they sold out so quickly. :( make my horrible 2014 an awesome one! x
