That’s a pretty bleak headline for folks up in Johannesburg and a bit harsh hey. Very subjective, but never-the-less the city of Johannesburg was named by Condé Nast Traveler as the unfriendliest city in the whole world by readers. Condé Nast Traveler is one of the world’s most influential travel and luxury magazines. The results of the readers survey were published 2 days ago and according to the website they were asked to score the friendliness of cities around the world and the lowest score was named the unfriendliest. The did however mention that “Everything from location and political perception to size and basic language barriers can make a destination unattractive to tourists and be a factor in their evaluation of a place’s “friendliness”.

Let’s be positive though…you won Jozi!

That sucks. At least you won hey. Joburg beat out Cannes, Moscow, Paris and Marseille. 3 French cities in the top 5….no surprises there.

As you can see from the headline they also named the friendliest citiest in the world. Look away now Joburg people.

Cape Town was picked as the 8th friendliest city in the world.
