Posted by on Jun 17th, 2014

Just came from the CBD and traffic is already heavy this morning so expect gridlock later today during peak hour and the State of the Nation Address by President Zuma. Apparently the new road closures are to minimise traffic congestion, but don’t get your hopes up. Major roads closed from 4pm today will be Strand, Adderley and Plein Street. Roeland Street will be closed from 5.45pm as well as the M3 from Newlands and also De Waal Drive. St John’s Street, Commerce Street, Plein St and Roeland Street nearest parliament will be closed from 9.45 am onwards.

Just click on those for the enlarged version. Times of closures are next to the different colour routes. Also i didn’t include the map that shows the M3 closed from Newlands and along De Waal Drive.

Also no parking allowed on several streets the whole day. Click HERE for the list and alternative routes.

    Now you know.
