  • Win another two VIP tickets to EFC Africa 30 in Cape Town [giveaway]
Posted by on May 21st, 2014

Right, given the high interest in my competition last week for double VIP tickets to EFC Africa 30 in Cape Town on the 5 June, i’m giving away another two VIP tickets this week to someone who missed out and still wants to go. In my previous post i highlighted the main event where Don  Madge will be fighting Boyd Allen. Everyone is amped for that since Allen is undefeated and Don is on mission to prove he’s the best fighter in SA, but that’s not the only fight fans will be focussing on. Cape Town born,World Muay Thai champion, Irshaad Sayed will also be returning home to fight Johannesburg’s Charlie Weyer. The ‘White Tiger’ has two world titles and the Chinese MMA crown on his resume so expect him to showcase his skills.

Here’s the fight card for the night, have a good look because i’m gonna give one lucky reader the chance to see them in action…right up close in the VIP section.

Okes looks serious. If i ever end up on the fightcard my sh*t is gonna be smiling.

Here’s some more about Irshaad ‘White Tiger’ Sayed and his return to Cape Town.

“While this support is a great welcome for me it also brings some pressure. I think the support of my family and friends could be the key to seeing me perform at my best.”

Sayed’s best is a formidable concept. He possesses a strike arsenal deadly enough to have netted him both the world Muay Thai and K1 titles, and has also developed a ground game that saw him reach the very top of Chinese MMA.

In Johannesburg’s Charlie Weyer he faces a challenging opponent, however. A former EFC bantamweight title contender, Weyer is known for crisp hand speed and a finely polished all round game.

Sayed left his home eight years ago. He has achieved the heights of combat sports since. On Thursday, June 05, all his efforts come full circle when he finally gets to do what he was born to, at home.”

Gonna be a great fight that.

Right..now here’s how you can stand a chance to win the double VIP tickets.

    • head on over to the EFC Africa website HERE and have a look at the fight card. Then leave a comment beneath this post telling me which 3 fights you are most looking forward to and who you think is gonna win. Feel free to elaborate and impress me with your MMA knowledge.

That or just be your usual, desperate, funny, bribing self and leave a comment that’s creative or awesome. Or both.

Will pick a winner this coming Friday afternoon.

    Now get to it.

UPDATE: thank you all for the comments.  Wish I could give everyone tickets.  Chose a few outstanding comments and then picked a random winner from those.  Dan The Man will be going to EFC 30.

Dude!! I am a massive MMA fan, watch EFC and UFC shows religiously.. Human chess is where it’s at.. I can’t wait to see the Cape be represented in the main event.. Here are my 3 top picks!!

Madge vs Allen (Obviously) .. Madge for the win here, coming from a muay thai background, Madge’s striking prowess is going to be too much for Allen. I think the speed difference is going to be where Allen suffers

Sayed vs Weyer – Sayed for the win, experience is he key to this fight. With Sayed plying his trade in Thailand he has faced much better opponents than Weyer. The phrase Steel sharpens Steel is appropriate here..

    I. Kabesa vs Muyambo.. Since he trains in my area and I’ve watched him on the local scene I want Muyambo to win here. This is most probably the closest match up on the whole card and I expect the guys to leave it all in the ring, youth mixed with athleticism will make for a high tempo fight…

Ruan Potts has recently joined the UFC in the states and this can only bode well for local MMA fighters… .

Please sir, may I have some more?!?

The fight im looking forward to most is obviously Don Madge vs Boyd Allen. I train with Don Madge at PFA and even if I didnt I would still pick him to win. Day in day out it is clear how much of a beast he is, he trains harder than most guys put together and has a gas tank bigger than most guys put together. His very very good at every aspect in MMA so I see him winning the fight however he wants to but hopefully by KO or TKO because Allen apparently bet R5000 on himself to win the fight (Who does that? And who does he think he is to do that?). The second fight on my list is Irshaad Sayed vs Charlie Weyer. My pick for this fight is Irshaad via decision, His fighting at home for the first time in years, he’l have the support of his family and friends and im sure the supporr of the people that used to train in his gym that was called White Tiger, im not sure it still exists though, but I see him out striking Weyer and dominating him on the ground if it comes to that and winning via unanimous decision. The third fight on my list is Kabesa vs Muyambo. The thing is I know this fight is going to suck and is going to be a boring grappling match and not an exciting grappling match but they are both young bloods representing Cape Town so who am I to hate and how can I not support them. U have to be a different type of human being to step into a cage and fight so respect

Please Please Please times 1 billion times !!!

As i said in the last compo. I’m from Durban never been to a live EFC Event AND I’m moving down on the 31st. I have been 4 times to Nu Metro to watch EFC. To get VIP Tickets will be so dam awesome !!! Give me a shirt with anything written on and i wear it to the Event also. Give me a shirt with your logo etc =)

Main Fight Don vs Boyd gosh oh gosh. I dunno who to go for here to be honest i always shout for them both in the fights. Both have such a incredible stand up and ground game. If they trade stand up don has the slight edge but on ground boyd will. Where will this fight go is the question. I rate bit of both.

Sayed i’ve been watching all his fights on youtube and all i can say is next in line for the title which will be against Pena once he knocks out Zulu boy =) Charlie all i can say is sorry bud no chance …….

A fight a really really wanna see up close is Saxon Delafield !!!!!! Jeepers for 19yrs old this guy is a machine, his frame is massive and i think with his power hes going for a KO here after he won SUB of the night in his 1st fight at EFC.

Another fight i really wanna see is illunga hes been a bit unlucky lately but i think this fight is going to help restore his confidence.

So once again i’m begging you please to the end of the Universe and back pick me =)

B.Groenewald vs Elvis “Bomber” Moyo – Heavyweight no1 contender match. Definitely looking forward to this one. Prediction- Even though Groenewald was great in his match against VanDam Mbuyi beating him after taking a beat down in the first round, I think Moyo with his boxing background and over technical ability has got this on.

Kabesa vs Muyambo – Two young athletes and both undefeated will be a great fight. Will be great to see if Muyambo can get one back for his brother. Prediction- Muyambo will win.

    Sayed vs Weyer

Back in SA Irshaad Sayed one of the best and experienced fighters around, will take down Weyer as he has fought tougher opponents.

Huge MMA fan would love these tickets.

My 15 year old niece is a MASSIVE UFC / EFC fan. Unfortunately she has been diagnosed with tuberculosis, vaginal herpes and aggressive uterus cancer, the doctors say she’ll be going to the guy upstairs towards the end of the year. She says she dreams of God every night and the only thing he says to her is: “I don’t want you back”. It has always been her life dream to watch a live EFC/UFC fight, please….have a heart….make her dream….a reality.

The fights she would like to see: Don Madge vs Boyd Allen……… Irshaad Sayed vs Charlie Weyer…. Kabesa vs Muyambo

    Winners: 1) The Don…..2) Irshaad THE SLAYER Sayed….3) Ka-BEAR-sa.

Sayed vs Weyer, Groenewald vs Moyo and of course Magic Man vs Allen, EFC doesn’t come to Cpt often but when they do its just wrong to miss it or watch it at home as usual. Don and Sayed needs all the support and hopefully Chad Hepburn can record his first EFC victory I think he’s currently on a 5 loss streak. It’s always good meeting up with fight fans, fighters and coaches from cape town, no better place than to do it at EFC. Thanks for the opportunity.

I am looking forward to all the fights but the 3 fights that i think will stand out from the rest are:The 1st will be the Lightweight battle between Luke Michael vs Saxon Dalafield : Both fighters are still very young and at the age of 19 years old both warriors have very impressive amateur records-Michael has 7 amateur fights undefeated and is a MMA champion he, has been training with Gideon Drotschie, the current undefeated light heavy weight champion for the past two and a half years but I have to give the win to Dalafield and it will come way of tko in the 2nd round. This man is the son of the great Mark Dalafield so fighting is in his blood. Saxon has been training kickboxing from the age of eight and went into MMA training from the age of twelve.Saxon has two AFL lightweight titles, winning his first title in twenty three seconds. South African amateur MMA welterweight title90% of all his MMA fights he has won under 60 seconds. He also has a South African amateur MMA welterweight title. His kickboxing record reads 68-6. So with14 undefeated amateur fights and winning his first pro fight in 31 seconds this great warrior will be EFC champion one day and become a legend. The 2nd fight will be the lightweight clash between Igeu Kabesa vs Regis Muyambo: Both fighters are unbeaten in the EFC cage. Kabesa has won the AFL title and is 10 times National Wrestling champion. In his last fight he beat the very experienced and highly rated Johan van Staden by tap out in round 2 by way of an armbar. Regis has been training MMA since the age of 15. Regis has won the Pro-Amateur CFL welterweight title, has won the GASS tournament in Cape Town, has won the WP K-1 championship and came 3rd at the SA Championships. In 2010 Regis came first in the SA MMA Championships in Pretoria.Regis’s last time out in the EFC hexagon was very impressive beating Texier Kabesa in round 2 by tko. Regis has home crowed advantage and I think has a bit more experiance than Kabesa. This fight might end up been fight of the night and I think Regis will win in the 3rd round by points. The 3rd fight will be the classic Welterweight clash between Marcel Teniers and David Buirski: Teniers has home crowed advantage and in his last two visits to the EFC hexagon he finished his opponents in true warrior style, beating Morne Prinsloo in round 2 via TKO and stopping Wayde Sage in round 1 via tap out with a RNC. Teniers has won gold in the GASS tournament, has won 2 gold medals at the Abu Dhabi African Pro Trials No Gi Division, has won gold at the No Gi Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Tournament in 2011. Buirski has more experience in MMA with a pro record of 5-2 and comes off a 2 win streak . Buirski has won 3 out of 5 EFC fights in the 1st round. I think this fight is going to end in the 1st round by way of TKO to David Buirski.

I beg you to please award me with the 2 VIP tickets as I have never been to Cape Town and this will be a great time to see the mother city and attend EFC 30. I love EFC and always attend the fight nights in Johannesburg and will most certainly be going to Durban on 30 August for EFC 33. If i dont win the tickets I will still watch all 12 fights at Sterkenekor.

I see quite a few essays written. So my answers will be simple and concise. I also see a plea for a sick child with communicable diseases who should be in hospital not at a public event where she can infect others.
Madge will win because he is better everywhere than Boyd. Boyd’s only real hope is his footwork which he will use to stay out of range. Unfortunately when he does come into range he’s going to get hit a lot and hard. This fight will see Boyd hurt on the feet and finished on the ground by RNC.

I am interested to see Knife fight Misholas, because knife is known to people as the bouncer at 31 and sometimes caprice. Unfortunately he has fought 3 nobody’s as an amateur at LHW and looked very avg. he is debuting at HW and is going to eat a HW right hand putting him on his ass.

Most interesting fight will be delafield and Luke Michael. Let’s see what all the hype is about. Luke has been talked up by his camp and has done well as an amateur and in grappling comps. But he is a small lightweight and I saw him win a unanimous decision where he was getting bullied a bit as an amateur. I am picking him to win because I hope he does. But I think its time for Rico’s guys to work on their weight cutting a bit and fighting bigger.

    Now give me my tickets!

Being relatively new to the ‘fighting’ scene I was super stoked to hear that Don from the gym I train at is fighting against an old school friend. The benefits of this small world is that I know first hand that Don has more focus and fierceness than anyone I’ve seen train, I also know that Boyd comes from the ‘East Rand’ (which if you from Joburg will know is pretty rough). Seriously though I can only imagine that it will be a hard fight, that won’t be half as awesome on camera…

As for the other 2 fights I would have to say Sayed Vs Weyer. Sayed fighting first time at home puts him under pressure and to add to the mix he’ll do it with international flare.

Delafield vs Michael… both will bring a variety of punches and ground work. Even though Michael is debuting I think Delafield may not get to show off that massive back tattoo of his as he’ll be on it 😉

Please mister, I am a real lady but for some reason (possibly pride 😉 I would love to be in the crowd right by the hexagon yelling in a deep voice “Kneeeeeeeeeeee!”
