Footage of the first South African to run 100m in under 10 seconds [video]
Posted by on Apr 14th, 2014

Up until this past weekend, no South African athlete has ever run under 10 seconds for the 100 meter sprint, but on Saturday Simon Magakwe changed all that and nailed a sub-10sec time at the South African Athletics Championships, in Pretoria. He clocked 9.98 breaking the old SA record of 10.06 seconds.

Says 9.99 on the clock, but his official time goes on record as 9.98 sec.

Here’s the video.

Good stuff pal.

Finally an SA sprinter has broken the elusive 10 second barrier.
