Here’s an interview with the fake interpreter saying he is schizophrenic [video]
Posted by on Dec 13th, 2013

A week ago the world woke up to the news that one of it’s greatest ever sons, Nelson Mandela, had passed away. It’s been a week of mourning and celebrating his remarkable life. Sadly his death has been somewhat overshadowed in the news by the story of a fake sign language interpreter who basically used made-up hand gestures interpreting the speeches by world leaders at Madiba’s memorial service. He was identified a few days ago as Thamsanqa Jantjie and further revelations have been uncovered. It’s not the first time he has used sign language that made no sense during official events. He has also been under investigation for R1.5 million in fraud and yesterday he responded to the accusations and his explanation to what happened is…ya well just watch this interview.

He says he suffers from schizophrenia and when he gets an episode he sees ugly things. [insert eye-roll here]

Thamsanqa Jantjie

Please enjoy how he says he must just deal with it for his own safety and those around him. This from a guy who was within arms reach of world leaders. And then cops arrive at the interview and try to take him to get a psychiatric evaluation. He refuses.
