Ya hey…it’s only the beginning of the holiday season and Cape Town is already collecting awards for best city to travel to. Well at least according to the Brits. Make some more space in the trophy cabinet because Cape Town has won the Best City in the world award by Britain’s biggest travel survey. The prestigious Telegraph Travel reader awards gave Cape Town top honours for favourite city in 2013.
There it is.
Nicely done Cape Town.
“Home of the goodtimes and the awesome LifeisSavage, Cape Town is the best city in the world according to British travellers. Having shown what it could do at the 2010 World Cup – when it hosted more than 300,000 football fans – Cape Town will next year play host to visitors with more aesthetic sensibilities, when it is 2014 World Design Capital. The spotlight then will be on its considerable number of artists, artisans and architects, with plenty of design tours, open-house galleries and exhibitions. Thankfully, this is a city in which there is no shortage of designer accommodation, from old favourites such as the Mount Nelson to newcomers such as the hip Cape View Clifton, as well as historical b&bs and exclusive-rental luxury villas. It is also a city that appeals to all ages. ” [Telegraph]
Ok so that first bit isn’t in the actual quote, but true story though.
Well played Cape Town. Carry on.
