If you happened to be along the Atlantic Seaboard this weekend you will have noticed that the MyCiTi buses are finally operating on the Sea Point route along Beach Road and High Level Road. You will need a MyCiTi myConnect card though to use the buses and for this week only the City of Cape Town has waived the R25 price of the card. Until this Friday (8th November) you can pick up a myconnect card for free at the Civic Centre in the CBD.
Very nice of them hey.
Finally some regular, efficient, modern public transport in my neighbourhood.
And in case you missed the Sea Point new route that launched on November 2 here you go.
Click that for the larger version.
The free MyCiTi myconnect card can be obtained from the main open space at the CT Civic Centre this week. Apparently there will be plenty of signage to direct you.
Now there are some conditions you will have to meet before you get a free card.
- You will need a valid SA ID or driver’s licence. Young children without an ID book need a birth certificate and foreigners need to bring their passport.
- You will also need to load the card with a minimum of R30. You won’t get the free card unless you load it with R30.
For those of you interested, the MyCiTi buses on the Camps Bay route will start operating on the 30th November.
Now you know.
