  • Giveaway: 2 sets of double VIP tickets to EFC Africa 25 in Cape Town
Posted by on Oct 31st, 2013

The fight of the decade…that’s what they are calling the epic upcoming mixed martial arts battle between Don Madge and Leon Mynhardt at EFC AFRICA 25 in Cape Town on 7 November. And you can be there at Grandwest Arena…watching at ringside with VIP seats. Yip…i’ve got 2 sets of double VIP tickets to giveaway to you fine folks.

Keen to see the action up close and personal..well then keep reading.

    madge vs mynhardt

Besides the Madge vs Mynhardt main event there will be 13 other bouts taking place. The focus will be on the lightweight championship.

“Don Madge and Leon Mynhardt first fought in April of 2012. There they delivered perhaps the greatest war yet seen in the Hexagon. Madge, a global Muay Thai superstar and Mynhardt, a striker at the top of Africa’s summit, redefined what was thought possible in standup encounters. In November of this year these two warriors meet in a rematch where the stakes could not be higher. This time Madge is the EFC AFRICA lightweight champion, and Mynhardt will put everything on the line to take his belt.

At EFC AFRICA 25, when Madge and Mynhardt meet for the second time, the thread between them climaxes. Madge is intent on avenging his only loss in the Hexagon against only the second man to have beaten him in a career spanning over a hundred fights, the other a world champion. Mynhardt is looking for redemption and proof of what he has worked his whole career to be; the best. For both each is the greatest test possible, for both losing is not an option, winning is everything.”

I’m going with Madge for the win. Kick his ass seabass.

Madge is going to take this one by a country mile. His stand-up is far superior to Maynard’s and if the fight should go to the ground, I know Don can submit him with his BJJ skills.

The other fight I’m looking forward to is Sean Robinson taking on Chris du Pont. I’m a HUGE ‘Monster ‘ Robinson fan and I know Chris is pretty lethal himself. Keen to see what happens there.

I see Don Madge taking this one in the 4th round. He has that hunger that will keep him hitting harder and returning what ever Leon has to throw at him faster which will ultimately see him take it. There is almost that mental advantage he has over Leon because there is something to prove – he knows he can take it but just needs to show us that.

One of the other bouts I’m looking forward to is between Gideon ‘Juggernaut’ Droschie and Fraser ‘The Omen’ Opie – its going to be insane!

    October 10, 2013 at 10:59 am

I think Mynhardt is going to take this one! He’s taken Madge down before, and it’s the IRON LION’s turn to be champ!

I’m also looking forward to the Grobbelaar – Mbuyi match up! The Guru needs to pick himself up again after his loss to Van Zyl.

    Smart money is on Mynhardt.

And I’ve seen Drotschie fight before. The bout against Opie is going to be a tough one.

    Money is on Madge.

This guy is all time and while Mynhardt will put up a good fight, the champ will reign supreme.

Super excited to check out the Don work his Madgic on Mynhardt.

Home grown hero for the win!

    And Drotschie

    October 10, 2013 at 10:59 am

Don Madge will beat Leon Mynhardt with a 2nd round submission.
I personally do not see this going the distance as Madge is going to end it early unlike UFC 13 I think it was where the 3rd round confusion came into effect and Madge lost out to Mynhardt.

I am also keep to see Sors Grobbelaar bounce back vs. Mbuyi.

Don Madge will win this one due to his superior game. Gideon Drotschie is gonna smash Frasier Opie to pieces

Madge vs. Mynhardt – is going to be an epic battle. The first fight had those two throwing absolutely everything including someones poor kitchen sink into the war. In terms of standing, mynhardt has the edge, theres just something in that boys eyes that you can see he wants an old school slug fest.

But the moneys on Madge for this bout. I think Dons come a looong way as a fighter and knows that to win this fight, he will need to keep Mynhardt uncomfortable.

Like most title fights. I see this one going the distance and coming down to the scorers cards.

I say Madge will take it on points. and retain the belt.

    Drotschie vs Opie.
Gideon hasnt been tested as yet. and Opie is a wild card with good international experience. I’m leaning towards there being a new LHW champ at the end of the night.

Don Madge has my vote to win because his got what it takes in his groundwork! His hungry to win and his technique is amazing!
    Robinson and Du Pont

I would LOVE to be there!!

Madge should take the title. He is strong, fit has trained hard, but I think his stamina and desire to win will snatch this title.

2 other fighters, Heavy Weight Bout : Brendon Groenewald and Bernado Mix. Always behind Brendon 😉

Mynhardt will take it… trust me on this one okes. madge is good (duh) but mynhardt is so focused for this fight, whereas madge just taking it in my stride.

I got tickets already, but wouldnt mind being bumped up to VIP… whoop whoop.

Oh, opperman and kabulu should be a good fight too!

MAIN MAN MADGE is gonna take it for the 2nd time.

He was completely prepped to take out the Greek champ, Ioannou and proved himself there. Someone who successfully calculates an opponent’s game plan and counteracts it has got a serious advantage and its going to take more than just hard punches to take Madge out.

Opie and Drotschie should be quite a clash, and then also rooting for Grobbelaar, cause that mans got serious combinations to throw :)

I would LOVE VIP tickets, have been waiting for EFC Africa to come back to Cape Town for so long the countdown on my laptop calendar is finally onto 3 days… Please please =)

Don Madge to take it for sure! Although both he and Mynhardt have great stand-up capabilities, I believe Don’s focus on improving his ground game have taken him to a level way above that of Mynhardt (who hasn’t displayed any spectacular ground work). I think Don could take him via submission or another nice head-kick 😉

The second fight I’m quite keen to see is Teniers vs. Prinsloo. Teniers has been shrouded in mystery for the past while, but as he is from my old camp I have seen him fight and believe he has the potential to make waves on his EFC debut.

Fingers crossed for the tickets! I’d willingly roll with Don for them; I’m so keen!

Madge will knock him around a bit standing and then submit him on the ground round 4.
Amped for Drotschie fight as well.
