Cape Town Festival Of Beer 2013 is nearly here…200 beers and the world’s biggest game of beer pong
Posted by on Oct 22nd, 2013

It’s that legendary time of year again when South Africa’s largest and most comprehensive festival of beer returns and spreads happinness to thousands. Over 200 beers from more than 50 local and international breweries will be rolling into Cape Town next month at Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point for the annual Cape Town Festival of Beer…or as i like to call it, the festival of golden nectar deliciousness. Besides the beer, this year’s festival will feature a beer passport and the world’s biggest game of beer pong. Just so you know i’m winning that.

Local beers like Darling Brew, Devils Peak, Triggerfish and Lakeside Beerworks will be on offer as well as the award winning Belgian beers, Celis White and Carolus Gouden Classic. There are too many to mention individually so best you just rock up and let all of them touch your lips and make you happy.

The “Beer Passport” you’ll get at the entrance, will allow you to collect stamps as you sample all beers on show for free and you will then stand a chance at winning fantastic prizes and beer hampers. Yes more free beer.

And for the first time ever, the festival will be running a giant beer pong tournament throughout the the weekend. Not giant as in numbers of contestants but giant as in the beer pong tournament this will consist of giant balls (that’s what she said) which will need to be thrown into giant cups measuring 1.5m high.

Now the festival is only from 22-24 November, but if the previous years are anything to go by then best you get group table bookings now already. Especially if you want prime position. Those of you who have been to a CTFOB before will know how important table position is. Your home base for the day.

Will keep you informed with further competitions and what not closer to the date, but for now here’s the relevant links etc.

Good times.
