Boston Dynamics shows off 4 legged robot running faster than you can [video]
Posted by on Oct 7th, 2013

It’s no secret that robots are slowly, but surely becoming more and more realistic. I’ve always taken comfort though in the fact that they still look mechanical and move…well like a robot. After watching this video you may wanna start rethinking that. While this 4 legged Boston Dynamics robot may look and sound mechanical, watching it gallop pretty much like an animal is pretty awesome and scary at the same time.

Oh and in case you’re wondering..they clocked it at 25km/h. That’s quicker than most humans apart from a few top athletes.

Throw some fur and teeth on that thing and bam. Robot lions and sh*t that can hunt you down.

Wait till the 35 second mark when it turns around and starts shifting proper.

Fetch doggy.

“WildCat is a four-legged robot being developed to run fast on all types of terrain. So far WildCat has run at about 16 mph on flat terrain using bounding and galloping gaits. The video shows WildCat’s best performance so far. WildCat is being developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from DARPA’s M3 program.”

Science and stuff.
